Senior Product Designer

Northbeam builds the operations platform used by mid-market logistics teams across North America. You will own end-to-end product design for our planning surface and help mature the design system that four squads build on.

Takes about 10 minutes · CA$150,000 – CA$190,000

About the role

Our planning surface is where dispatchers spend most of their day. It is dense, real-time and unforgiving of ambiguity. We are looking for a designer who is comfortable in that complexity: someone who will sit with operators, redraw the information model, and ship in weeks rather than quarters.

You will report to our Head of Design and partner daily with a product manager, a staff engineer and a user researcher. Design at Northbeam is embedded, opinionated and accountable for outcomes rather than deliverables.

What you'll do

  • Own discovery through delivery for the planning and dispatch experience.
  • Turn operator research into information models the whole team can reason about.
  • Extend our design system — tokens, primitives, dense data patterns.
  • Prototype interactions in code or in high-fidelity tools to settle debates early.
  • Raise the craft bar through critique, documentation and pairing with engineers.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years designing complex, data-dense software products.
  • A portfolio that shows decisions and trade-offs, not just final screens.
  • Fluency with design systems and component thinking.
  • Strong written communication — we work across time zones.
  • Comfort talking directly with operators in the field.

How we hire

Application review, a 30-minute intro, a 60-minute portfolio conversation, a paid design exercise, and two team conversations. We share the exercise brief in advance and never ask for free work on real Northbeam problems.

Benefits

  • CA$150,000 – CA$190,000 plus meaningful equity.
  • Remote-friendly within Canada; Vancouver studio two days a week if you like.
  • Extended health from day one and a CA$3,000 annual learning budget.
  • Six weeks of paid leave, including a company-wide winter break.
